Buffalo offers channel bite of Apple

Vendor highlights iPhone add-on opportunity as it makes Apple docking station available to distributors and resellers

Buffalo claims change in distribution strategy could drum up add-on sales around the iPhone 4

Buffalo has made its Apple docking station available to the channel in a move it claims could generate add-on sales around the iPhone 4.

The storage and networking vendor’s Dualie offering allows users to sync an iPhone or iPod with their Mac or PC, while providing a 500GB portable hard drive for backup and storage of digital assets.

Dualie was initially sold exclusively through Apple but the product has now been made more widely available.

The product is compatible with the entire range of Apple iPod and iPhone devices, including the newly launched iPhone 4, said Buffalo.

Paul Hudson, Buffalo's sales director for Northern Europe, said: “We have now extended the sale of the Buffalo Dualie through our distribution and reseller partners – this gives the channel an opportunity to engage further with customers around the launch of the iPhone 4.”
