Liverpool Science Park experiments with Ipitomi

Science and knowledge business complex opts for managed voice and data offering from hosted reseller

The Park's two buildings and 800 users will now benefit from managed IT

Hosted communications specialist Ipitomi has deployed a managed voice and data offering covering 800 users across two buildings at Liverpool Science Park.

The Park provides lab and office space for companies operating in the science or knowledge space. Ipitomi claims its managed service offers 24-hour maintenance and also allows tenants to add extra products and services on an ad hoc basis.

Chloe Harding, Liverpool Science Park's business development director, claimed opting for a managed proposition took away the headaches associated with in-house IT management.

"We have only one supplier to manage and one number to ring in any eventuality," she added. "This removes any supply chain excuses, and ensures a rapid response to IT issues or helpdesk queries.

"Furthermore, the managed services model consolidates the billing process, allowing us to accurately and easily account for new tenants in our revenue and budget forecasts.”

Ipitomi claims the managed service model will provide optimum network resilience and make it much easier to handle the IT needs of the Park's various inhabitants.

Paul Cosgrave, Ipitomi managing director, said: “Liverpool Science Park is a fast-growing business for which competitive advantage lies in its agility and the value-add service packages it delivers. Our service will ensure that businesses can continuously deliver the latest technology offerings and expertise and remain ahead of the competition, without being cost-prohibitive.”
