Noxs turns up Voltage with latest partnership

Distributor adds to vendor stable by partnering with email and data encryption firm

Specialist security distributor Noxs UK has widened its product portfolio by partnering with email and data encryption software vendor Voltage Security.

The distributor is now looking to recruit up to 10 UK resellers on behalf of the vendor. Noxs will provide VARs with full training and certification on the products, plus a version of the software to demonstrate to customers. It is also spearheading the vendor’s push into other parts of Europe.

Voltage’s security products include its flagship Voltage SecureMail, which secures email communication using identity-based encryption (IBE), a development based on public-key infrastructure (PKI) technology. The products are aimed primarily at the enterprise marketplace such as financial institutions which have more compliance issues, rather than at SMEs.

Kay Eggleston, managing director of Noxs UK, said: “Voltage’s product will be particularly attractive to any reseller that is already selling appliances from IronPort, Ciphertrust, Clearswift and Proofpoint.”

Eggleston added that in the past PKI-based technology did not take off because of the complexity of having to exchange certificates each time the technology was used.

“IBE is different from PKI because it is all policy-based, easy to use and implement, and it doesn’t need any certificates to be exchanged,” she said. “People were reluctant to manage PKI-based solutions because they were time-consuming. But we are very confident of success with Voltage.”

Matthew Robinson, European sales director at Voltage Security, said: “Noxs brings a multitude of skills to the table and we think it is one of the most focused European distributors in the market we operate in. It also has a good reputation in the industry and understands what resellers need.

“Noxs partners already offer a comprehensive range of infrastructure security solutions and our products will just add to their existing capabilities.”
