Contract negotiations: Report claims EMC is in discussions to acquire Isilon

EMC is hammering out a deal to acquire storage vendor Isilon for $2bn (£1.26bn), the New York Post has claimed.

A source quoted in the story, which broke over the weekend, states that the deal is expected to close by the end of the year.

Both EMC and Isilon declined to comment on the New York Post’s story.

News of the deal follows on from reports earlier this month that Isilon had appointed investment bank Qatalyst Partners to help it find a buyer.

The revelation resulted in the clustered storage vendor’s share price rocketing to a 52-week high of $26.35 a share.
