Quantum injects cash into channel
Vendor invests $250,000 in helping partners through tough times
Backup and recovery vendor Quantum Storage is diverting $250,000 (£167,000) of marketing funds into its Alliance Channel Programme, to cushion partners during difficult times.
The announcement of its new 2009 strategy will see Quantum distributing sales leads to its channel partners, enabling them to build on their customer bases.
Steve Mackey, area sales director for Northern Europe at Quantum, said: " With difficult economic times ahead, it is vital that we support our channel partners and customers as much as possible. This move represents a dramatic shift in our internal sales model and demonstrates Quantum's commitment to its channel.
"By working closely with our partners and passing on appropriate sales leads, we are confident that more of our partners, and their customers, will benefit from Quantum's products and solutions."
The strategy aims to provide Quantum's partners with more opportunities to sign new accounts, as well making room for its own direct sales team to generate more leads for partners.
Gurdip Kalley, business development manager at reseller Solid State Solutions, said: "Quantum's new lead distribution programme is a key asset to generating new business and new customers for us.
"Our commitment to customer service and end-to-end solutions allows us to take full advantage of Quantum's investment."
