CA makes another purchase
Less than a week after Wily purchase, CA has bought again
Computer Associates (CA) has continued its vendor shopping spree, snapping up Control-F1 Corporation for an undisclosed sum.
Hot on the heels of its acquisition of Wily Technology, Control-F1 is a privately held provider of support automation solutions that automatically prevent, detect and repair end-user computer problems before they disrupt IT services.
CA will market the Control-F1 solutions as a standalone products and will incorporate them into its Business Service Optimisation solutions portfolio.
Jacob Lamm, senior vice president and general manager of Business Service Optimisation at CA said: “IT organisations have reached a critical point as the complexity and volume of technology rises and support resources remain limited. By augmenting our service management portfolio with Control-F1’s automation solutions, CA is helping organisations relieve a significant portion of their daily workloads so they can focus on strategic projects.”
Veer Gidwaney, founder and vice president of product marketing at Control F1, will join CA as vice president of sales strategy and execution.
“CA is the ideal company to leverage our technology and make it available to customers around the world,” he said.
