Double-Take VARs given cloud incentive

Vendor rewards partners for driving adoption of latest disaster recovery solution

Masters: Partners responsible for driving uptake

Double-Take Software is promising partners “high margins and ongoing kickbacks” to get customers signed up for its cloud-based disaster recovery solution.

The Double-Take Cloud product permits end users to recover mission-critical workloads within an Amazon-hosted cloud, with customers charged on a per-server basis via the vendor’s web site.

Ian Masters, UK sales director at Double-Take, said partners will be responsible for driving uptake of the software and will be richly rewarded for their efforts.

He said: “The good bit for our channel is that it is a low-touch model with high margins, with partners receiving ongoing kickbacks for as long as their customer is signed up for the service.”

Double-Take also hopes to add more cloud providers to its stable to aid the delivery and drive sales of the solution, Masters added.

“For partners, this is a very important move because it means they will be able to offer customers the chance to shop around for the best cloud provider for their needs,” he explained.

Dan Nichols, technical director at Double-Take managed services partner virtualDCS, said the vendor’s promise of ongoing revenue opportunities would be welcomed by partners.

“It is a good way of bringing in extra, long-term revenue for part-
ners because customers always tend to renew these kinds of contract,”
he added.
