PNY signs Quadro FX 4000 deal

Firm agrees partnership with Man and Machine

PNY Technologies has signed an exclusive partnership for the new nVidia Quadro FX 4000 SDI professional graphics card with specialist distributor Man and Machine.

The Quadro FX 4000 SDI is targeted at digital broadcast professionals who work with virtual-set, sports and weather news systems to combine live video footage with virtual backgrounds and send the result for TV broadcast.

The card is also aimed at film production and post-production professionals for real-time previewing of 3D compositing, editing and colour grading.

The addition of Man and Machine marks another step in PNY's drive into the UK channel. The company has had great retail success with its Verto range of nVidia graphics cards but has spent much of the last year courting key channel partners to boost sales in the professional graphics sector.

Following a deal with broadline distributor Computer 2000 in December, PNY has since signed up Microtronica for its professional graphics range.

"I am delighted to have signed this deal to distribute our latest Quadro card in the UK," said Vicky Burgoyne, general manager at PNY.

"It gives us the opportunity to work with one of the most respected corporate distributors in the channel, and its technical business sales teams will enable us to build market share in the broadcast industry. We have every confidence in Man and Machine's ability to sell this offering to its specialist customers."

Mark Andrews, graphics business manager at Man and Machine, said the agreement will be welcomed by the broadcast industry.

"The fact that we can supply the Quadro 4000 SDI offering is fantastic news for digital broadcast professionals who need sophisticated graphic solutions.

"No other distributor can offer higher levels of expertise within this niche market, or the level of customer support needed by these specialist resellers," he claimed.
