Bombers put paid to Digital Media plans
The 1996 Digital Media show has been cancelled after the planned venue was damaged by last month's terrorist bombing in Docklands. The organisers, Miller-Freeman Exhibitions and the Hammond Organisation, claimed a suitable alternative venue could not be found and they have been forced to refund delegate payments. The firms said any venues available would not 'do justice to the conference speakers, visitors and exhibitors'.
Ray Hammond, MD of the Hammond Organisation, said: 'We had the best line-up of confirmed speakers ever due to appear in Britain.'
