Ji new division launch

IT consultancy firm Ji Consultancy has launched a specialist virtualisation division

IT consultancy firm Ji Consultancy has launched a specialist virtualisation division in an attempt to snare market share in what it claimed is a rapidly expanding market.

Ji described itself as a “reverse reseller” and said that its primary revenue source is from consultancy time, although the firm admitted that it does sell hardware and licences, having a partnership with vendors such as VMWare and IBM.

The new division is called VirtualizeIT and Julian Box, its managing director, was bullish about its potential in the market.

“Virtualisation is the biggest thing to hit IT since the microprocessor and almost every business in almost every sector will use it in the future,” he said.

VirtualizeIT consists of eight staff handling design, implementation and level-three support. The firm also claimed server virtualisation consultancy would initially receive the highest amount of interest, alongside disk-based and SAN virtualisation.

Mark Blowers, senior research analyst at the Butler Group, said: “The trend is towards virtualisation because it helps businesses get the most out of their IT. Creating its own virtualisation division is a good move for Ji and the opportunity is there for other resellers to do the same, especially on the storage side of operations.”
