Sapphire tickles RSPCA's tummy
Reseller Sapphire implements Proactis Spend Control System for animal welfare charity
The system will provide cost control for all the RSPCA's animal centres and hospitals
Software reseller Sapphire is set to implement a Proactis Spend Control System for the RSPCA.
Moving its spend management systems to web-capable software providers, Proactis, Sapphire will begin rolling out the system across the charity towards the end of March next year.
The system will include purchase to pay, employee expenses, spend visibility, link to document scanning and Punchout to the web.
The RSPCA expects to yield several benefits from the system including risk management, effective ordering and invoice processing procedures.
Clare Howard, business development manager at Sapphire, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the RSPCA to Sapphire’s growing Proactis customer community. Proactis will provide the RSPCA with the visibility it needs and will empower it to make relevant business decisions at the outset of the procurement process.
“The system will provide ease of use for all sections of the society from HQ, regions and branches to the inspectorate, animal centres and hospitals allowing any savings to be redirected to the important work of animal welfare.”
The RSPCA had short-listed Basware, Wax Digital, Proactis and a solution from Sage for the project.
Vickie Malyon, head of procurement at the RSPCA, said: “Our brief was to find a web-based procurement system for use by the society to place orders on suppliers with flexible workflow to deal with our authorisation processes and integrate with our SAGE 500 accounts system. The system will be deployed across a wide range of users so ease of use is essential. It also needs to scale for the future both in size and functionality.
“The fact that Proactis is used in many Not for Profit organisations gave us great comfort. We also felt that Sapphire with its wide-ranging charity expertise stood out from the other potential suppliers.”
The RSPCA has five regional headquarters and 35 associated animal welfare sites. It also supports 172 independent volunteer-run charities that use the RSPCA brand.
