CMS Peripherals locks down iStorage exclusive

Vendor appoints first distributor to push encrypted, portable hard drive products in UK and Ireland

CMS has inked a UK and Ireland-wide deal with iStorage

Portable hard disk vendor iStorage has appointed CMS Peripherals as its first distribution partner.

The deal hands CMS exclusive access to the vendor’s portfolio of portable hard drives, which it plans to promote to its network of retail and corporate resellers across the UK and Ireland.

The distributor said it will focus its efforts on promoting iStorage’s diskGenie solution, which encrypts and locks down the data store on it using pin code security.

John Michael, managing director at iStorage, said the appointment would help promote the importance of data security to a wider audience.

He said: “Data loss is already a significant issue grabbing headlines on a regular basis but it can be easily prevented. We need to get that message across to a wider market more quickly and to educate target audiences about our unique range of products that will guarantee sensitive data remains confidential.”

Stuart Borst, partner operations manager at CMS Peripherals, said: “There is a real opportunity right now for the iStorage range making excellent sense for individuals and businesses to protect against data loss and CMS will get that message across.”
