Midwich expands business display category

Distributor adds AquaLite outdoor displays, and Toshiba's Stasia and Regza series

Midwich already distributes LCDs from brands including Sony

Midwich has signed up to supply outdoor screens from AquaLiteand to exclusively distribute Toshiba’s Stasia and Regza business LCDs to the channel.

Lee Baker, business manager at Midwich, said: “We are delighted to secure an exclusive on these new business displays from Toshiba. These products are ideal for business, education, leisure and hospitality applications.”

Stasia business displays have three-year warranties and Regzas come with a standard one-year warranty that can be extended to three years on certain models.

Both feature a hotel mode that blocks access to channel, picture and volume settings, and USB cloning for large-scale installations in hotel and hospitality venues, according to Midwich.

The second signing, AquaLite, is an emerging outdoor displays vendor with products the distributor hopes will appeal to resellers targeting summer sports events. Three formats – 32in, 42in and 52in – are available, with LED backlighting optional.

Baker said: “All AquaLite IP66-rated displays are fitted with a 6mm panel of toughened, anti-reflective glass, and offer 1,500 candelas of brightness with Full 1080p HD picture quality. The display itself is purpose-built; it is not simply a screen set in a weatherproof casing.”

Kim Menen, director of AquaLite, said its products also offer the opportunity for customers to develop a digital signage revenue stream.
