Sluggish growth prompts Info'Products restructure
Reseller Info'Products has conceded that it did not realise the expected business growth from its acquisition of Simmons Magee in March 1997, causing it to miss its financial targets.
The company admitted that its financial figures for last year were not as good as anticipated but refused to comment further. It has been widely rumoured that Info'Products will make a loss in the year ended 31 December 1997.
Info'Products said it was now integrated with Simmons Magee, adding it was pleased with both the speed of the integration and the client base it had acquired.
Info'Products has restructured itself, creating two management positions.
Howard Dickel has been made director of business development and Bill Colman director of customer service.
Colman said: 'The focus on key strategic clients has not been as strong as we would have liked. We intend to be more customer facing and improve growth for 1998.'
The announcement comes in the middle of a complete management team reshuffle and after the company has lost its Compaq accreditation of Systems Service Provider (SSP).
Norman Kough, director of sales, predicted more buyouts: 'There will be more consolidation in the industry. GE Capital will probably continue to make acquisitions, especially in Asia.'
