AfterMail looks for stamp of approval
As email archiving becomes relevant to more organisations, the vendor is recruiting like-minded partners
AfterMail is looking to boost the ranks of its UK resellers to achieve greater market penetration for its email archiving software product.
The New Zealand-based vendor launched its first UK office in February. It claimed that 98 per cent of resellers’ clients do not have email archiving technology but that around 80 per cent are keen to modernise their systems.
AfterMail’s product, also called AfterMail, is sold mainly through the channel. Since its UK launch it has signed two distributors – Acal IT and Vigil Software, along with 14 new resellers.
Sean O’Reilly, sales director at AfterMail, said: “The two main distribution deals are our primary route to market and we now have 24 channel partners in total.”
“We are trying to be selective in our recruitment, as we are seeking partners who are interested in the business issues and not just the storage issues of email archiving,” said O’Reilly. “Over the next six months we will be looking to recruit around 12 new resellers.”
O’Reilly said that email archiving is moving more into focus for firms. “Formerly local governments, central governments and finance firms were most interested in the software, but email archiving has become a common ground issue,” he said.
Adrian Polly, director at VAR Plan-Net, said: “The product in terms of an email archiving solution is very strong and extremely easy to integrate. Larger finance firms have always been the most interested and clients have liked how easy it is to implement and they like the search functionality.”
Polly added that the software will appeal to resellers in many markets.
“Everyone we have shown it to has understood its value, and people now have an obligation to ensure that these types of data storage systems are in place,” he said.
