Opal partners set to benefit from Tiscali buyout
Firm's parent TalkTalk completes £236m acquisition of internet service provider
Tiscali’s IPVPN proposition gives Opal a multi-site home-worker offering
TalkTalk Group has completed its acquisition of internet service provider Tiscali UK for £236m in cash, and claims the move will open up new opportunities for Opal partners.
Opal, better known as TalkTalk Group's business-to-business (B2B) division, boasts 350 wholesale partners which it claims will reap the benefits of the buyout.
Tiscali’s IPVPN proposition will allow Opal to provide a multi-site and home-worker offering.
It's existing partner base will be able to access Opal’s account management support infrastructure, flexible tariffs and a range of growth incentives.
Paul Lawton, managing director of Opal, said: “We are very excited about the opportunities that the combination of these two businesses will create.
“Tiscali’s technical heritage and existing product set aligns well with our current development plans, and the company’s partners will provide Opal with access to a new set of data-focused resellers – something we consider to be critical to our future growth.”
