Woodland to open doors with IronKey
PGP and Symantec alumnus Colin Woodland charged with bolstering vendor's EMEA channel
Secure flash drive specialist IronKey has tasked its new EMEA director of field operations, Colin Woodland, with getting closer to the channel.
Woodland has been in the industry more than 20 years, working primarily in the security sector. He spent six years at vendor PGP, where he implemented an EMEA channel scheme and built it to a $25m (£15.35m) operation encompassing 10 distributors and 330 resellers. He has also held positions at Vantive, CyberAngel and Symantec.
His first assignment at IronKey is to assess the lay of the channel land and discern which partners the firm would like to forge closer ties with. He has also been charged with identifying potential partner recruits.
Woodland expressed his excitement at having the chance to work in the data encryption space.
“I am thrilled to be joining IronKey at a time when data mobility is unarguably one of the biggest areas people are concerned with," he said. " IronKey has the best encryption technology and is the most secure flash drive there is, bar none.
"That is not just what we say; customers that I have spoken to echo this belief. Being able to offer a solution that can 100 per cent secure data, in a way that can be centrally managed, excites me.”
