Falconstor VARs given virtualisation incentive
Vendor to knock £350 off product price for VARs using VMware offering in virtualisation projects
Cash incentive: Falconstor said the deal is aimed at helping VARs make more margin on virtualisation projects
Falconstor Software is knocking €400 (£350) off the price of virtual storage for partners that include VMware’s vSphere 4 Essentials Bundle in their go-to-market offerings.
The discount is being offered on Falconstor’s Network Storage Server Virtual Appliance product until 15 June.
The product is used to create virtual storage area networks on VMware servers by converting internal or direct-attached disk resources into a shareable storage pool.
To take advantage of the deal, partners must provide Falconstor with proof of purchase for VMware vSphere 4 Essentials Bundle.
Philippe Bruiant, director of chanel sales of Falconstor EMEA, said the incentive was aimed at VARs that have given virtualisation projects a wide berth because of the low margins involved.
“Virtualisation starts to make sense as soon as a company reaches just three physical servers,” he added. “When you consider how common it is to have a file server, print server, network server or a database server, that represents a heck of a lot of businesses.”
Thomas Barrett, vice president for Northern European sales and operations at Falconstor, said the offer was a way for its resellers to make some “instant margin” on the product.
He said: “We have taken some of the cost of the product so that we can put that money back in the pocket of our partners.”
