InFocus programme to boost projector sales

Midwich is focusing its InFocus accreditation scheme on resellers that struggle to sell projectors

Mizon: quite a few resellers are struggling to make money from projector sales

Resellers struggling to sell projectors have been targeted with a new InFocus programme from Midwich.

The distributor wants resellers to qualify for Gold or Platinum accreditation, which have been tied to a range of incentives and rewards around its exclusive InFocus commercial projector line-up.

Stuart Mizon, divisional manager at Midwich, said “quite a few” resellers were struggling to make money from projector sales. “InFocus has had an IT distribution base, which is perhaps lower in specialised expertise,” he said. Resellers needed support and incentives to skill up on the commercial range.

VARs committing to a minimum monthly sales target are eligible to become Platinum partners, with exclusive deals, additional discounts and rebate benefits. Gold partners will get a bonus for every InFocus projector they sell.

Selling compatible brands such as Diamond will invalidate the warranty and get the erring reseller kicked off the programme.

According to Mike Fisher, convergence and new technologies consultant at Futuresource Consulting, global second quarter projector sales fell 16 per cent year on year to 1.3 million units.
