Evesham sale draws closer
New company enters the frame for Evesham
The saga over the imminent sale of Evesham Technology continued last week with the emergence of a new company called Geemore Technology.
According to documents obtained by CRN from Companies House, Geemore has Evesham chairman Richard Austin listed as a director and is registered to the same address as Evesham.
The new company, incorporated on 20 July, also has The Elite Logo Company listed as a director, which is owned by Tariq Mohammed, one of the founders of TimeUK, tipped last month by CRN as the hot favourite to buy Evesham).
As CRN went to press a channel source said: “The ground has seemingly been prepared – the deal just needs to happen.”
System builder Elonex admitted it had put in an offer for Evesham three months ago. CRN understands that this offer was initially accepted by Austin, but later fell through.
Nick Smith, marketing director at Elonex, said: “We were asked to make another offer recently, but were concerned that the [Evesham] brand has been tarnished over the past six to eight weeks.”
Austin refused to comment.
