HP offers secure prints
Printer giant launches HP Secure Print Advantage package
HP has launched a bundled offering that the vendor said enables the secure printing of sensitive documents in large enterprises and the public sector.
Garry Lefkwitz, director of marketing for HP’s Secure Print Advantage, told CRN: “The HP Secure Print Advantage package comprises three elements: encryption software, a secure document server and a secure print module.
“There is a class of reseller that is very focused on security and encryption and this solution is ideal for these companies.”
However, printer vendor TallyGenicom claimed it has been implementing secure printing features in its professional printing range for some time.
The company added that HP’s approach was “using a sledgehammer to crack a nut”.
“Business users should be looking for printers with secure printing features as standard,” said Duncan Vass, TallyGenicom’s product marketing manager.
