LOIS dresses up Little London Boutique
VAR implements J2 Retail Systems stock tracking technology in women's clothing retailer
J2 650 allows LLB to track stock between its outlets and web site
Reseller LOIS Systems has upgraded women’s designer clothing retailer Little London Boutique’s (LLB) point-of-sale hardware in its Chichester, Winchester, Guildford and Tunbridge Wells stores.
The software solution J2 650, from vendor J2 Retail Systems, enables LLB to track stock in real time and share the information between outlets and its online site. Stock can be selected from the nearest or most appropriate store, for both web or store orders. Orders are taken, the payment processed and products shipped.
Lynne Waller, co-founder of LLB, said: “The LOIS software solution will remain the hub of our expanding business. However, after 16 years we decided it was time to upgrade our point-of-sale hardware.”
Entering a period of expansion, LLB is planning between 20 and 30 new store openings in the next three years across the UK. International expansion based on a franchise model is all on the cards, in addition to wholesale and selling own-label stock to independent retailers and department stores.
Waller added: “Point-of-sale performance is particularly critical when running a LOIS system, as all fulfilment across the stores and web site is managed from here. With e-commerce and shop operations synchronised, the till is used as our universal access point.
“From the till, our staff can manage sales transactions, place orders, and transfer stock; absolutely everything. This puts the onus on LOIS software and J2 hardware to harmonise and give us reliable performance.”
LLB uses the PC-based touch-screen J2 650s for its management reporting, inter-store messaging, and to run its instore music system and CCTV-based security. It will also use it to post streaming video from the stores straight onto the web site, in the near future.
