Targus Entas Mac market
Manufacturer tasks distributor Enta with taking its first Mac notebook accessory to market
Laptop accessory maker Targus has launched its first line of accessories for Mac notebook users, available to the channel through distributor Enta.
The new family of products complete a suite of Mac-exclusive solutions, said Targus’s vice president of sales and marketing, Bob Shortt. The range available to the channel includes a wireless mouse, bluetooth laser mouse, bluetooth presenter, USB hub, chill mat and privacy screen.
The vendor claimed that each product is developed with materials, ergonomic attributes, technology innovations, functionality and aesthetics designed specifically to meet Mac users’ wants and needs.
“The Targus for Mac line was created with Mac user input throughout the design and development process,” said Shortt. “It has a distinct Mac aesthetic in terms of look and feel. Mac users want an intuitive interface on the presenter, smooth-moving touch scrolls and dual programmable buttons that let users personalise their experience.”
The range includes the first Mac-specific presenter on the market. Bluetooth Presenter for Mac has intuitive button configuration for ease of use and prevention of accidental button presses, with primary presentation controls such as previous slide, next slide and laser pointer easily identifiable from tactile cues. Secondary functions like blank screen and slide show are kept out of the way.
It is all about drawing on the popularity of the iPod Touch, Shortt said.
“Clean, sleek and trendy form factors that exude simplicity and sophistication are in,” he said.
Enta will be distributing them, along with another new Targus range, the Eco-Smart, which comes with eco friendly packaging and will be backed by a marketing campaign.
