Azzurri places Orega onto higher platform
Azzurri Communications completes installation of Mitel Communications platform
Azzurri Communications has completed the installation of a Mitel communications platform at the head office of serviced office provider Orega.
Azzurri’s installation replaced the firm’s “ageing” Nortel system, which Orega claimed was unsuitable for future upgrades.
Paul Finch, managing director of Orega, said: “We have historically had to pay for every change we wished to make on an individual basis. The whole ‘moves, adds and changes process’ was becoming cumbersome and impractical.”
Azzurri installed a voice over IP (VoIP) Mitel 3300 integrated communications platform for Orega at its Staines site. It consists of 400 handsets and will allow the firm to make future upgrades to its IP-enabled communications system independently, without the need for a third party.
Finch added that the ability to install the new communications infrastructure within 24 hours and have it operational again by the time its employees returned to the office on Monday was vital.
“Working hand-in-hand with our own technical staff, Azzurri had the solution ready for our clients when they returned to work,” Finch said.
Colin Campbell, account director at Azzurri, told CRN that it ran a period of pre-installation training for Orega’s staff to ensure that they were familiar with the VoIP system prior to its weekend installation.
“Orega services 25 other companies from its Staines office, and within 24 hours we managed to remove the old system, install a data network and the new phone system,” he said.
Campbell added that Azzurri has also completed the installation of an identical 200 handset VoIP system at Orega’s Slough office, and that by the end of June it will have completed the installation of a 400-handset VoIP system at a third Orega site.
