Information management specialist Microgen has announced it will invest up to £8m over the next two years to beef up its ability to provide ASP and e-billing services to blue chip customers.
The company claimed it needs the increased capacity and capability because of the rise in demand for hosted services over the last six months.
Microgen expects the investment will boost its Axess database hosting service annual revenue, currently at £1m.
Microgen also said that its Business-to-Business electronic billing service, currently serving two pilot scheme customers, would boast "several" clients by the end of the year.
The company said the investment will be used to boost its sales and marketing resources, establish a central facility to integrate the processing of its outsourcing services and develop the company's operational management infrastructure to support growth.
