Name change for Unipalm
Distributor set to change to name of parent company this year
Specialist security distributor Unipalm is to change its name to Computerlinks UK in the summer.
The firm, which was acquired by Computerlinks back in 2000, has been trading as Unipalm, but admitted the time had come to make the change.
David Ellis, director of e-security at Unipalm, said: “We are changing the name to make it clearer that we are a pan-European entity. We opened up in the US last year and have a presence in 13 European countries.”
Ellis added that the name change has been “well received” by its reseller and vendor partners.
Frank Coggrave, regional director UK and Ireland at security vendor and Unipalm partner Websense, welcomed the change.
“Computerlinks is such an established and valued brand across Europe that it makes sense to extend the brand to the UK.”
