Computrolley signs agreement with MicroWorld

E-commerce arm of Phoenix Software to distribute security software in the UK

Computrolley has signed an agreement with India-based security vendor MicroWorld to distribute its security software in the UK.

Robert Hall, sales director at Computrolley, the e-commerce arm of Phoenix Software, told CRN: “We are MicroWorld’s only UK distributor for the time being. We didn’t have an anti-virus offering. The favourable pricing we have secured for MicroWorld’s eScan anti-virus software should attract a lot of resellers.”

Simon Campbell Young, chief executive of Phoenix Software, said: “MicroWorld is an important partner. With the rapidly developing IT market all enterprise and home users have to be sure that they are protected against viruses. They need to feel confident that their servers are clean.”

Phoenix Software will make the software suitable for the UK, then distribute it out via Interactive Ideas.

Michael Breeze, marketing manager at Interactive Ideas, said: “We have worked with Phoenix Software for a number of years, including its products in our retail sales team and establishing its brands with many leading companies. However, the consumer security market is very competitive and dominated by leading brand names, with a large number of other companies trying to establish themselves with aggressive pricing. But Phoenix Software has been excellent in supporting us and our retail channel in the past.”
