Sale saves jobs at training firm
KnowledgePool kept alive after acquisition by investment firm Root Capital
IT training firm KnowledgePool will continue to trade in its present form following its acquisition by investment firm Root Capital.
Insolvency specialist Menzies Corporate Restructuring sold the business, which entered administration last month after struggling through the spending downturn.
"The sale of the business has enabled us to keep it intact and save most of the jobs," said joint administrator Andrew Stoneman. A total of 30 jobs were lost during the administration.
Simon Philips, partner at Root Capital and new chairman of KnowledgePool, said Root Capital is interested in IT support and services companies.
"When we found out KnowledgePool was for sale we were immediately interested, and having got closer to it we can see the potential," he said.
