Berryman leaves Tektronix helm

Steve Berryman, UK sales director at Tektronix, has left the vendor amid speculation that the channel has been starved of stock as a result of ongoing supply problems.

The vendor said in a statement to PC Dealer: 'As part of an ongoing operational review, Tektronix is implementing a number of changes. Based on a mutual agreement, Steve Berryman will be leaving the company to pursue career opportunities outside Tektronix.'

Nick Culley, account director at Midwich Thame, said: 'I was frustrated because there was a delay in shipping some lines, but we have been in a healthy stock position since then.'

Andy Dow, general manager of peripherals at Computer 2000, said: 'We are now seeing a more constant flow of product and the more Tektronix can ship the better. Demand is good, but it is outstripping supply at present.'

A representative for Tektronix said: 'At a printer launch in October, we said some products would not be available to ship until early 1999.

We haven't shipped some ranges as fast as some distributors would have liked, but we have no serious supply problems.'
