Compuware on hunt for worldwide allies
Software vendor Compuware has begun the search for more partners to boost its global channel as it prepares for a post-millennial development rush.
The enterprise application developer aims to increase its 400 worldwide partners and add to the 20 per cent of global revenue which is generated through the channel.
Compuware, which has the component-based architecture Uniface as its flagship product, also plans to expand its presence into more diverse markets by continuing its scheme to introduce resellers across different countries to work on a variety of joint projects.
Dave Wood, software director at Compuware Var Midland Software, said the vendor had taken time to realise the Trojan horse resellers represent.
"More resellers will mean more products under the Uniface umbrella and we can all ride on that success," he said.
Roy Franzen, general manager of Uniface at Compuware, said the company's focus after the year 2000 will be to offer customers the chance to exploit the ecommerce explosion, as well as the ability to extend legacy applications and integration capability between a variety of applications and platforms.
He said: "Our message is the end is near with the year 2000 problem.
The application development market is not dead - it's alive and kicking.
The opportunity to integrate applications will become important."
