Sony buy-back lifts indie spirits
Sony and Centresoft have won the adoration of independents by buying back slow-moving Playstation software from authorised Playstation Centres to prevent them getting stuck with unsellable stock.
The returns offer arrived as Centresoft's parent Centregold moved close to being bought by Eidos, the video compression software company which owns Domark. Eidos has made an agreed bid and both companies believe Centregold shareholders will OK the deal.
Centresoft sales director David Neal said the buy-back scheme had gone down well with the trade.
