Logicalis makes UK acquisition
Integrator buys UK-based compliance vendor Iconium
Integrator Logicalis has made its first UK acquisition since December 2006, stumping up an undisclosed sum for governance and risk compliance vendor Iconium.
Iconium offers compliance, security and business intelligence tools to help businesses minimise operational and legal risks. Logicalis became its first UK Policy Enforcement Partner last January (CRN, 26 January).
Talking exclusively to CRN, Tom Kelly, UK managing director of Logicalis, said Iconium’s intellectual property would help Logicalis save its clients money on enterprise content management (ECM) projects.
“Over the last 18 months we’ve gone out and done ECM projects and had to reinvent the wheel every time, which isn’t cost-effective. Iconium gives us some Logicalis-owned intellectual property so we can bring real value to the client from day one,” he explained.
“We’re convinced that the whole systems integrator channel is changing, in that clients are looking for more cost effectiveness and value from channel.”
Logicalis’s last UK acquisition was of IBM and HP reseller CSF Solutions 13 months ago (CRN, 11 December, 2006).
Kelly claimed that Iconium complements both Logicalis’s focus on Cisco and its more recent focus on systems vendors such as IBM, EMC and Microsoft.
He added: “We are now at a size where we are looking for companies that add to what we have already, rather than Cisco, HP or IBM partners.”
Kelly stressed that Logicalis would continue to fully support Iconium’s existing customer base and channel partners.
