HP appeals for storage challengers
Vendor offers to solve end users' storage problems through online competition
Online competition will see HP offering to fix end users' storage problems
UK residents with data storage problems are being urged to let HP solve them, as part of an online competition from the vendor
The winner will receive £5,000 worth of consultancy from HP to help solve their storage conundrum and will get the chance to star in a video on the vendor’s web site.
The closing date is Friday 30 April and the winning entry will be chosen by HP’s panel of judges who will also take into account votes cast by the public online.
The competition is being held to mark the tenth anniversary of HP’s XP disk arrays, which will form the basis of any storage solution proffered.
Sangeetha Narasimhan, marketing manager at HP StorageWorks in UK and Ireland, said: “We are asking people to challenge us to solve the storage problems they are having today, which we will solve using XP.”
Simon Brassington, enterprise storage product manager at HP, said many of the problems already posed by those taking part in the competition had focused on data consolidation and cost containment.
He said: “The range of problems posed so far has been fairly numerous and broad, but we have definitely seen a couple of common themes running through the entries.”
