Live Information Systems seeks UK partners
System developer extends channel programme
Software system developer Live Information Systems (LIS) is extending its channel programme and is hoping to recruit more UK partners.
The Staffordshire-based company's flagship product is its Nimoi web content management system which allows companies to establish and maintain an online ecommerce presence, according to chief executive Matt Farrar.
LIS, which currently has eight UK channel partners, is developing products for other markets, including XML-based document management tools. It is also moving into the service provision area, including development and consultancy, said Farrar.
"At present we are probably only 30 per cent channel and 70 per cent direct, but we are hoping to change that figure to 50/50 by the end of this year," he claimed, explaining that the company is looking to recruit about 20 additional UK resellers by December.
Partners will be offered different levels of training, such as server licences for smaller resellers or enterprise licences for larger resellers.
The training will follow industry practice, claimed Farrar, with courses lasting between two and five days, and additional training when upgrades are developed.
"The channel is very important to us in terms of competing with larger organisations, and when we are trying to increase our client base," he said.
Philip Morton, new media manager for LIS reseller Linney Design, which boasts multinational customers such as Yamaha, claimed that content management is a vital part of its business.
"Timely, relevant web content is essential to keep customers coming back, and the only way to deliver and update content across such a diverse range of geographical and language barriers [such as Yamaha's] has been to deploy a web content management solution," he explained.
