Interquad GM gives up post

Interquad denied it would ditch its distribution arm after general manager Catherine Pullan cleared her desk and left for pastures new last Friday.

Pullan described her departure as very amicable. After working at Interquad for nearly three years, she said she wanted a change. Insiders at Interquad told PC Dealer that Frontline, Ingram and Merisel have already approached Pullan.

Jim Fletcher, who was MD at Interquad until his abrupt departure a year ago, said: 'Catherine Pullan was a precious commodity. I brought her in from Merisel and she really turned things round.'

John Pennels, Interquad managing director, said: 'There is not a lot to say. She has a number of outside interests and wants to devote time to them.' He insisted that he wanted to grow both the distribution and training arms of the company, worth an estimated u10 million in turnover.

'Interquad has allegedly been up for sale for the last umpteen years, and it's business as normal here.' Although Pennels has not recruited a replacement for Pullan, he plans to do so.

Over the past two weeks, Interquad hired ex-Oracle sales manager Neil Bassett to grow its education and training arm.

The news of Pullan's exit followed the departure in April of Julia Jones, who headed up the company's training arm.
