Peribit doubles workforce

Plans announced by new regional director for northern Europe

Peribit intends to double its headcount this year, according to Henrik Kjellin, its new regional director for northern Europe.

Kjellin replaced Rob Mustarde, formerly general manager for northern Europe, in early May. Mustarde has joined rival WAN optimisation vendor Riverbed.

"We want to sell boxes and provide third-level support, with specialist distributors providing the rest," said Kjellin. He added that the firm intends to employ more systems engineers this year.

Norwood Adam provides distribution and support in the UK. Centia, a former distributor, broke ties with Peribit in May.

"Products will primarily be supported by distributors that are competent at second-level support. Norwood Adam fits the profile well," Kjellin said.

He added that there will be no huge changes to the firm's existing model, and that he expects its channel to evolve over time.

Adam Woolhouse, managing director of Peribit reseller Network Alliance, said: "Henrik has a lot of reseller experience, and he will bring that to the channel organisation."
