Unipalm secures Symantec partnership
distributor signs agreement to offer security giant's endpoint and IP technology
Specialist security distributor Unipalm has partnered with Symantec and will offer its endpoint security software and its behaviour-based intrusion prevention technology to its reseller base.
According to Symantec, users of its Sygate Enterprise Prtection product can enforce business policies, automate security practices and ensure security policy compliance. The vendor also claimed its behaviour-based intrusion prevention technology analyses the characteristics and actions of viruses, worms and other malicious code to offer real-time protection against these threats.
David Ellis, director of e-security at Unipalm said: “With the big rise in mobile users and devices connecting to the corporate network, securing the endpoint has become critical for organisations. Through its acquisition of Sygate, Symantec now has a strong expertise in endpoint protection and compliance.
“The ability to offer organisations a comprehensive endpoint protection solution for both managed and unmanaged devices is a massive opportunity for the channel.”
Steven Rose, UK managing director of Symantec said: “Working with Unipalm allows Symantec and its certified channel integrators to address and serve joint enterprise customers.
“This direct touch model will help to ensure that projects are successful, by providing competences, services and support to underpin our compliance offers and deliver optimal customer service.”
