NetApp announces programme extension

Partners encouraged to offer services in four separate areas through NetApps' APSP

Storage giant NetApp has announced a new strategy, which includes the launch of its Authorised Professional Service Partner Programme (APSP), to encourage VIP partners to deliver services to end users.
John Rollason, product marketing manger for EMEA at NetApp, said: “NetApp is launching a major strategy with new products, the unveiling of our Kilo Client grid computing demo lab and the announcement of the APSP.”
By joining the APSP, partners can differentiate themselves from the competition by demonstrating value-add service skills in storage system design, storage platform, Microsoft applications and virtual tape library implementation, explained Pete Rawden, channel sales director at NetApp. “Partners can choose one or a number of these solution areas, however, NetApp is not forcing the APSP on its partners as it may not be right for some,” said Rawden.
“The VIP programme is still in place this new announcement is an extension. Through the APSP, partners will have access to NetApp’s tools, knowledge and know-how to improve selling its products.”
Rollason added that NetApp is announcing two new products as well as the launch of the APSP, as the storage market has seen a transformation with virtualisation.
Sandra Dunne, sales manager at NetApp reseller Partner Appliance Technology welcomed the initiative. “The APSP will provide huge benefits, as partners can become more integrated with NetApp.
“The professional services and accreditation will determine a higher level of expertise for customers.”
