Zyxel looks for channel breadth
Recent reseller recruitment drive branded a success, but vendor more plans up its sleeve

Zyxel has lauded its strategy of welding together its SME VAR and service provider
programmes, claiming it will fuel continued channel success.
UK country director Lee Marsden said: “We see service providers taking up more of our products and it is important for them to see the full range.”
Having parted company with Northamber, Zyxel signed EntaTech as its fifth UK distributor in July.
Since January, Zyxel has boosted its reseller numbers by 36 per cent. It now has 202 Authorised VARs, 586 Bronze, two Silver and six Gold.
As a reward for scouting partners, distributors win an exclusive deal with the reseller in question. Marsden claimed he wanted to continue adding “breadth and focus” to the channel.
He said Zyxel’s higher-end products could provide stiff competition for Cisco and HP, while its small business offerings would compete with Netgear.
