tinglobal joins acquisition trail

The parent company of VAR tindirect makes a cross channel acquisition

tinglobal, the parent company of VAR tindirect, has branched out across the channel to snap up independent hardware vendor Powercore International and Powercore SAS in France.

The acquisition for an undisclosed sum, will complement tindirect's activities of reselling IT infrastructure and services, tinglobal claimed.

Powercore employs 40 staff with offices in London, France and Poland and has an annual turnover of £9m.

Mat Jordan, sales director of tinglobal, said: “Both companies will continue to operate with their existing management teams and trade independently.

“The acquisition marks in no uncertain terms our intention to progress toward tinglobal’s goal of being acknowledged as Europe’s leading supplier of used hardware solutions and services,” he added.

Daren Bland, founder of the vendor said he believed the company would be in safe hands with tinglobal. Bland will remain active in an independent computer company called Recarta IT that he is buying out of the Powercore Group.

The Cirencester, Gloucestershire based Group is expected to have a combined turnover in excess of £25m.

David Gutteridge, chairman of tinglobal, said: “Both tindirect and Powercore have extremely strong brand identities in the channel. Though both adopt an unequivocal partner focused strategy with no end user engagement, the strengths of the two companies are remarkably complementary.”
