BorderWare looks for MXtreme VARs

Vendor to increase presence in finance, manufacturing and public sectors

Security appliance vendor BorderWare plans to expand its channel to push its latest MXtreme appliance into new UK markets.

Peter Cox, international vice-president at BorderWare, said the firm is particularly keen to increase its presence in the finance, manufacturing and public sectors.

"We are also having success in other countries in the telecoms and ISP sectors, and we hope to mirror that in the UK," Cox said.

BorderWare has two levels of UK partner: Premier and Authorised. Premier VARs receive higher levels of support, discounts and free demonstration systems.

Cox said BorderWare is not limiting the number of partners it takes on, but is not looking to saturate the market.

"The difference between our products and those offered by other vendors is the value we can offer new channel partners. We enable them to solve all email security problems with one product," Cox claimed.

Gary Duke, sales director at BorderWare partner LAN 2 LAN, said: "BorderWare has only just received an injection of cash that has enabled it to increase its profile.

"Its products had previously been one of the best-kept secrets in the industry and had not been targeted by hackers, which was a bonus.

"BorderWare actually listens to its partners and is very approachable, which is unusual in IT."
