IDSA APPEALS AGAINST GAMES LAWS
Meanwhile, in a knee jerk-reaction to legislation passed by the US Senate, IDSA called on the industry to oppose any laws on game content.
The Senate has just passed an amendment to the Juvenile Justice Bill that will initiate a Federal Trade Commission investigation into whether games trigger violent crimes in society. It will also look at the way games are marketed and examine whether companies deliberately use violence to sell products.
Doug Lowenstein, president of IDSA, said: 'The industry faces the most serious threat in its history. Law-makers are attempting to place the blame on the entertainment industry and impose their morality on consumers.
Anyone who holds a stake in the industry should write to their congressman with their arguments.'
