Avanquest signs EDU

Software vendor aims at education space

Software vendor Avanquest has partnered with educational software distributor Douglas Stewart EDU to ramp up European sales.

Avanquest will supply Douglas Stewart EDU with educational software from a selection of vendors, such as ACD Systems, Starry Night Education, Net Nanny Education and Floorplan 11. Douglas Stewart EDU will then use its established network of VARs to distribute the software across the European market.

Chris Thompson, managing director of Avanquest, told CRN that the deal will help Avanquest strengthen its presence in the European education market.

“All of our channel will have access to our EDU agreement and we will encourage all of our VARs to buy through it,” he said. “We can broaden our market by working with EDU. Putting such products through it will help us to reach greater markets.”

Thompson added that Avanquest currently works with about 40 VARs in the UK. He claimed that by working with Douglas Stewart EDU it will be able to more than quadruple the number of VARs carrying software from it.

Lori Mercier, managing director of Douglas Stewart EDU, said: “With our understanding of the various UK education sectors, we are qualified to ensure Avanquest’s products are targeted to the right audience.” C
