Shock departure of Lockie at C2000

Current managing director at the distributor has left the company, to pursue new interests, and the position will now be taken over by Andy Gass

Distributor Computer 2000 (C2000) has announced the shock departure of its UK managing director Steve Lockie.

C2000 said Lockie is leaving to take up a new opportunity, and Andy Gass will fill the managing director’s position. Gass was formerly vice president of parent company Tech Data’s enterprise business in Europe. Gass will now work alongside Lockie in the run-up to its year end on 31 January 2007.

Lockie said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years and want to extend my most sincere thanks to all the management and staff at C2000 and Tech Data. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some very talented and dedicated people during my time here and I have learned a great deal, especially over the past three years. I’m moving on with a mixture of sadness and excitement about the future. I’d like to thank everyone at Tech Data for their support over the years and wish them every success in the future.”

Gass said: “I’m thoroughly looking forward to the challenge of taking C2000 into 2007. We have a clear strategy and we are already moving in the right direction. We will go into the New Year with a positive outlook and with a firm belief that we can build on our past successes and meet the challenges that lie ahead.

“Everyone at Tech Data has great admiration for Steve and the tremendous job that he has done over the years both in the Middle East and the UK operation. We are sorry to see him leave and wish him every success in the years ahead,” Gass added.
