Security vendor sees Q2 revenue increase 62 per cent off the back of Packeteer purchase
Security and WAN application delivery vendor Blue Coat Systems' second quarter performance was given a shot in the arm by recent acquisition Packeteer.
Total net revenue for the three months to 31 October increased 62 per cent to $119m ($78m) compared to the same quarter last year. Excluding revenue associated with the acquisition of Packeteer net revenue hit $93.9m, an increase of 28 per cent compared to $73.4m in the same quarter last year.

“In addition, we achieved integration between our ProxySG appliances and the PacketShaper appliances we acquired from Packeteer.”
Blue Coat reported a non-generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) net profit of $11.6m in the second quarter of fiscal 2009, compared to non-GAAP net profit of $12.4m, in the second quarter of fiscal 2008.
