Citrix and Vistorm formalise partnership

Virtualisation vendor and security VAR expand on "ad-hoc success" with deal addressing delivery of major projects

Done deal: Vistorm and Citrix claim they can "build on the success" of previous engagements

HP-owned security VAR Vistorm has joined up with vendor Citrix in a partnership which aims to ensure the smooth design and delivery of virtualisation projects.

The two firms will be targeting their offering at enterprise customers looking to undertake hefty deployments of Citrix's XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer and NetScaler products. The vendor will take a hands-on role at the beginning and end of projects to try and ensure firms' requirements are met.

David Taylor, Citrix's senior director of consulting and education services, claimed the vendor was breaking new ground with the partnership.

“This is the first time we have gone to market in this way,” he said. “We have created a service delivery co-operation with Vistorm, based on previous ad-hoc success, to provide new levels of assurance to the customer.

"Vistorm provides a safe pair of hands for the project through consultancy, integration and assessment. Our consulting team is then on hand to provide objective advice, requirement analysis and architecture validation.”

Graham Francis, infrastructure security practice leader for Vistorm, added: "Through using our proven project methodology we can reduce deployment time and mitigate risk. Rather than working with Citrix on an ad-hoc basis, we can now build on the success of the project delivery solution partnership so far to create a solid partnership."
