NetScreen launches partner programmes

Web security firm strengthens relationship with resellers

Internet security company NetScreen Technologies has launched its first reseller partner and distributor programmes in the UK.

The company, which has been operating 100 per cent through the UK channel for over two years, is aiming to give greater support to its resellers.

Under the NetScreen EMEA Distributors Programme, distributors will have two options: Premiere, which provides access to all products; and Authorised, which is more specific.

Accredited distributors will recruit partners to the three-tiered programme. Resellers can be accredited as either an Approved, Advanced or Premiere partner, depending on commitment to NetScreen product specialisation and purchasing though an accredited distributor.

NetScreen is looking for about 20 resellers for its Advanced level and between five and 10 for its Premiere level, said Gerard Allison, channel sales director.

Adam King, major accounts manager at NetScreen distributor e92plus, said: "Small resellers are being offered good training courses through distributors and vendors. With our own and NetScreen's combined partner programme there is a level to suit all resellers from the small office consultants to the large system integrators."

NetScreen will provide co-marketing opportunities and business development assistance as part of the programme. The company has also revamped its partner website.

Allison explained that the company is signing resellers specifically to sell its scalable security portfolio, including firewalls and virtual private networks.

Computer 2000 (C2000) became Net-Screen's third Premiere distributor, following Logitek and e92plus. Andy Shepperd, general manager at C2000, said: "The launch of the EMEA programmes is another step towards strengthening NetScreen as a brand and its support and training capabilities."
