Acquisition looms for ICM
VAR confirms it has received approach from a third party
VAR ICM has finally confirmed that it has received an approach and is in discussions with a third party regarding a possible acquisition.
The company also revealed in a statement last week that it is allowing its senior management staff to look into the possibility of a management buy-out.
However, ICM, which is a Microsoft Gold partner, IBM Premier partner and Cisco Premier partner, stressed in its statement that “there can be no certainty that any offer will be made”.
Back in October last year, managed services firm Netstore admitted to CRN that it was mulling over a possible bid for the reseller (CRN, 20 October). At the time Netstore said: “Netstore confirms that it expects shortly to approach ICM regarding a possible offer for ICM. There can be no certainty that any offer will be forthcoming. A further announcement will be made as appropriate.”
Both firms were unavailable for comment last week.
