Hypertec MBO breaks link with Oz parent
Hungerford-based memory upgrader Hypertec has severed ties with its Australian parent company after it completed a management buyout following 18 months of negotiations.
Hypertec COO Lianne Denness said: ?We thought we could move the company forward better with a free rein. From a personal business point of view it is better to be unfettered.
?The UK arm has been running autonomously for a number of years, but it took a long time to persuade it because we represent 50 per cent of the group?s turnover.?
While the UK company, now known as Hypertec Ltd, will continue to source product from Australia, its former parent will concentrate on PC manufacturing.
The UK company will not change its sales strategy and sell direct to its resellers.
