3 is the magic number for Target
Distributor signs up to provide UK VARs with 3G starter kits and wireless routers
Mobile broadband provider 3 has signed up Target Components to distribute its 3G starter kits in the UK.
Target will supply dongles that come pre-loaded with 3 mobile broadband credit. A 12GB starter kit will typically come replete with 120 hours of surfing time, 12,000 emails, 384 four-minute music clips and 60 four-minute video clips.
Kits are valid for one year and once initial credits have been used up, further credit can be purchased. Target will be offering starter kits bundled with laptops and the Castleford-based distributor will also be stocking wireless routers.
Kelly Burnley, purchasing manager for Target, claimed her company had been looking to get involved with mobile broadband. " We have seen a massive growth in laptop and netbook sales," she said. " Customers have been asking us for mobile broadband products."
Sales director Adrian Macklin added: "Part of my objective is to deliver what our resellers need to stay competitive, adding value by delivering the latest opportunities via Target.
"This agreement yet again cements the confidence of vendors and is just one of a number we have been recently negotiating with, with more to be announced over the coming months, further supporting our customers new and old.”
